Inter Milan agree on a one-year loan deal with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku

Blue Lions (Inter Milan) has agreed to loan the striker Romelu Lukaku back to his former club for a fee of less than £7 million.

The Athletic (England) reports that The Black and Blues will pay a cost of 6.9 million euros plus surcharges to sign the Belgian striker for the 2022/23 season. Rocky is scheduled to get a physical next week in advance of being loaned back to San Siro.

The documentation is being finished one step at a time. There will be no buy-out clause in the contract between Inter Millan and Chelsea after this season. The Blues is reportedly unwilling to allow Lukaku to leave for £6.9m after spending £98.5 million to lure him back to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2021. Hence, Lukaku, who is under contract with Chelsea until 2026, will join the team once again in 2022/2023.

He had a poor season at Chelsea in 2021-22. In forty-four games, he only scored fifteen goals. Furthermore, Romelu has consistently let Blues fans down with his words.

In December 2021, Rocky publicly expressed his wish to return to Inter, which enraged Chelsea fans: “I hope from the bottom of my heart that I can come back to Milan, not toward the end of my career, but in strong shape to win more.”

The Belgian striker has long yearned for a reunion with his former club. Lukaku took the initiative to phone Milan coach Inzaghi more than 2 months ago to express his passion to play in Serie A again.

He even hired a specialist attorney to control the action and accepted a 40% pay cut to rejoin the “Nerazzurri” and rescue his career. He feels that moving back to Serie A will allow him to rapidly regain his form in time for the WC finals this year.

Real Madrid

The discussion took place on April 5th, before Chelsea’s first-leg Champions League quarter-final encounter against Real Madrid. Benzema scored a hat-trick against Chelsea, but Lukaku missed a header.

The Athletic claims that Chelsea manager Todd Boehly believes his departure is in everyone’s best interests because the Belgian has indicated his desperation to rejoin Inter. It took the two clubs 3 hours to discuss and reach a deal on a loan arrangement.

Joe Cole, a former Chelsea player, briefly said about Lukaku’s transfer to Inter: “Lukaku is a great striker, but Tuchel couldn’t bring out the best in him. When a coach and a player do not get along, it is difficult for them to work together effectively. It makes perfect sense for Lukaku to return to Inter Milan on loan; it benefits everyone.”

His departure forces Chelsea and coach Thomas Tuchel to look for a substitution. Chelsea’s interest in the potential recruitment of Man City’s Raheem Sterling to succeed Romelu has recently been widely publicized in the UK media. The transfer fee is likely to be in the region of £55 million.

The Pensioners have not had any official communication with The Citizens, but with the English striker’s contract expiring in a year with the Etihad Stadium club, they believe the sum they are anticipated to offer on the bargaining table will persuade the Blue Man’s owner to accept the move. But Sterling has not decided on his future and is still weighing his options.

Chelsea also boasts a variety of other alternatives. Ousmane Dembele and Robert Lewandowski are the two most renowned individuals that could join Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2022. They have targeted Inter defenders Milan Skriniar and Denzel Dumfries. But, “The Blues” have yet to initiate formal negotiations with these two players.

Chelsea had opportunities to compete with Liverpool and Man City in the Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez contracts. But, the change of ownership had a significant impact on the chances of winning, as they then lost two rivals.

So, Richarlison is the only one Chelsea can hope for right now. Fortunately, Everton intends to let the Brazilian star go. After several years of investing half a billion pounds to enhance the squad, the dismal performance of “The Toffees” in the 2021/22 season leads owner Farhad Moshiri to seek liquidity options.

And one of Everton’s most valued players is Richarlison. Richarlison joined the blue half of Merseyside in July 2018 for a cost of £35 million, with terms that could climb to £50 million. Everton is now rumored to be willing to sell the Brazilian player for a comparable fee.

The Toffeemen had a disappointing season in 2021/22. Richarlison is a rare bright spot with 10 goals and 5 assists, which is equal to Calvert-Lewin and Gray combined.

The same source says that Richarlison de Andrade is also being pursued by Arsenal and Tottenham. Chelsea, on the other hand, excels in both financial ability and title attraction.

Aside from Romelu Lukaku, Christian Pulisic could leave Blues this summer due to his infrequent starts for the Blues. If Pulisic wants to play in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, he should go.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has only made 15 Premier League appearances in the 2021/2022 season. The current contract between the 21-year-old budding star and Chelsea is for two years. The arrival of Sterling or Richarlison will spark strong rivalry for attacking places.

In this situation, Hudson-Odoi can “fly” away from Stamford Bridge. Finding a new stop is a good approach for him.

Chelsea, according to Football London, is willing to push Werner away if a reasonable offer is made. Dortmund wants Werner, but the German player needs a wage cut to stay at Signal Iduna Park.

Last but not least, Hakim Ziyech is unable to showcase his full skill in a Chelsea shirt due to chronic injuries. Since he arrived at Stamford Bridge, Ziyech has never been guaranteed a starting spot. So, summer 2022 is the ideal moment for Ziyech to relocate and relaunch his career. AC Milan is a possible destination for Ziyech.
